ARMOISE

Description

Among the large variety of species of armoise (artemisia), several are used in perfumery, primarily for their thujone content. The plant grows across wide expanses in the High Atlas region of southeastern Morocco, where the government grants concessions for its harvest. It is gathered by villagers, who set up camps in the desert during the harvest season. The annual yield fluctuates depending on the rainfall in winter and spring.

This reference contains natural camphor which gives mineral effects reinforcing the citrus character until it typifies chamomile in base note. Particularly adapted to the fougère and cologne fragrances.
