Description

Native to the desert regions of the Arabian Peninsula (especially Yemen) and Somalia, senna is a species of shrub belonging to the Caesalpiniaceae family. Today it is also cultivated in India. Its leaves and pods are useful for their high concentration of natural derivatives of anthraquinone, naphthalene and flavonoids.
