For over 40 years, Biolandes has been committed to responsible and sustainable sourcing by upcycling the by-products of its own distillations. By giving these materials a second life, they become new natural ingredients to enrich the perfumer’s palette around the world. Biolandes sources its sandalwood oil from the islands of southwestern New Caledonia. Eight tribes divide the resource, which grows across the entire archipelago, among themselves. The traditional tribal authorities, with the backing of the government forestry administration, manage the sustainability of the sandalwood supply, replanting three trees for each tree used. A distillery located in the territory of the Wapan tribe provides added value for the entire supply chain.
